Obituary

OBITUARY William James Reinhardt passed away in his sleep peacefully in his cottage in his bed down by the stream in the early hours of Saturday July 21, 2012 Bill was 67 years old he was born in Brooklyn NY on Sept 14, 1944. He was the beloved son of his parents Martin & Frances Gilbert Reinhardt. He has a surviving older sister Joan Stevenson of Matawan NJ, and he joins his younger brother in heaven who passed away several years ago, Ronald Reinhardt who lived in Florida. Bill was well known in his early career as a salesman of BF Goodrich, later opening his own tire company in Staten Island called Score Tire. He moved to Saugerties in 1979 and shortly after opened a bed n breakfast in his family home and called it Bed by the Stream. He was a member of AA for almost forty years, advocating sobriety and helping anyone who needed it. This was his mission to see people get the help that is needed to get clean n sober. He is survived by his two children from his first marriage to Lorraine Calviello; his son William M. Reinhardt of Staten Island and daughter, Paula Reinhardt of Brooklyn. He is survived by his second wife, Odette Reinhardt who lived with him for 25 years as his loving partner. Their eldest daughter is Renee Cohen of Saugerties, and Lance Reinhardt of Manhattan. Bill was loved dearly by his six grandchildren who are - Amanda, Jaclyn, William, Mark, Steven, and the youngest Marley. We pray for him to go now and be with the angels!
