OBITUARY Saugerties, NY – Shirley E. Hill died Tuesday March 4, 2014 at home surrounded by family. She was 91 years old. Born July 12, 1922 in Wittenberg, NY, she was the daughter of Luther and Dorothy Bush Bonesteel. She married Benjamin F. Hill on November 24, 1940 and they celebrated their 73rd anniversary last fall. She retired from Saugerties Central Schools where served as a lunchroom attendant in the elementary schools. She also worked as a seamstress in several local garment manufacturers. She was a member of the ILGWA. She and her husband were members of the Left Footers Square Dance Club for many years. She was renowned for her knitting and cooking. Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Ziliani and Brenda Hill and two sons, Benjamin Barry Hill and Bart Hill all of Palenville; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ralph Bonesteel of NJ. She was pre-deceased by 3 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, March 7, 2014 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Main Street Chapel, Saugerties, NY. Interment will follow in Blue Mountain Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
