Saugerties – Rose Marie Gallagher entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 surrounded by her family at HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley in Kingston. She was 89 years old.

Born March 29, 1935 in Newburgh, NY, she was the daughter of the late John D. Pacella and the late Maria Conchetta Casaburo Pacella. On June 7, 1958, she married John E. "Jack" Gallagher, who predeceased her on April 12, 2001.

A graduate of Newburgh Free Academy in 1953, Rose Marie then attended the New York Foundling Hospital. Upon graduation she worked for dentist Dr. Kirkland of Newburgh as a dental assistant. She was an active member of the community as well as a eucharistic minister at Saint Joseph's Church in Glasco, NY. Additionally, she was a member of the Saugerties Columbiettes Council 4536 where she served as President of the Auxiliary, Hudon Valley Chapter President and District Deputy.

Survivors include her son John Gallagher and his wife Stacey of Newburgh, NY and Thomas Gallagher of Gaithersburg, MD; her grandchildren, Sean, Annmarie, Brian Kevin, Kaitlyn; her great-grandchildren Riley, Jack, Aria, Isabella, Coulson, Connor, Ian, and Micah; and her sister Rachael Ann Neugebauer of Vails Gate, NY. In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by her daughter, Ann Marie in 1963.

A Funeral Procession will form 9:15 am Saturday at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., and then proceed to St. Joseph's RC Church in Glasco, where a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Buono Funeral Service, Inc. Interment will follow immediately in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Barclay Heights.
