OBITUARY Saugerties, NY ? Rolande Bollin died Friday, September 23, 2011 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck. She was 85 years old. Born July 26, 1926 in Paris France, she was the daughter of Raymond and Blanche Schnell Pichon. She married Richard Bollin, her husband of 64 years, on September 14, 1947. She loved her home garden and flowers; enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking and, particularly, camping with family and friends in the Adirondacks and Canada. Later in life she and her husband traveled extensively to many of the national parks, the Midwest and west coast. She also made countless wedding cakes for many area residents. A member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Saugerties; she was instrumental in their annual strawberry festival as well as many other church functions. She was also a former volunteer for the Ulster County Home Extension Program. In addition to her husband, survivors include her two sons, Richard Bollin of Saugerties and Gary Bollin and his wife Katherine of Albany, NY; five grandchildren, Michael Bollin, Jennifer Fellows and her husband Ken, Karlamarie Connelly and her husband, Christopher, Garielle Bollin and Evan Bollin; two great-grandchildren, Amanda and Nicolas Fellows; and two sisters Georgette Bowen and Helene Higgins and her husband George. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Trinity Episcopal Church. Interment will follow immediately in Trinity Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 7:00 Pm until 9:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Trinity Episcopal Church in Rolande?s memory.
