Roger E. Myer, a lifelong resident of Blue Mountain in Saugerties, NY, passed away peacefully at his home on July 5, 2026, at the age of 88. Born in Saugerties on July 25, 1937, he was the son of the late Floyd Myer and Anna Mae Myer (Wolven) and was predeceased by his brother Robert Myer and his beloved wife of 65 years, Patricia, who passed away on November 18, 2025. Together they shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and cherished memories.

Roger is survived by his two sons, Gary (and wife Margo) and Darren (and wife Jamie), and four grandchildren Noelle, Taylor, Kailey, and Zachary, and his pug Chipper, all of whom brought him great joy.

After graduating from Saugerties High School in 1955, he was employed at IBM for 37 years and worked at the Kingston, Fishkill, and Poughkeepsie sites. A dedicated public servant, Roger, was a proud member of the Saxton Volunteer Fire Department for more than 25 years and was also a devoted member of the Free and Accepted Masons at the Ulster Lodge 193 for 67 years. He was also a lifelong member of the Dutch Reformed Church of Blue Mountain, and a member of the Der Germania Kaatskill Schuhplattler Verein in the Cairo area.

Roger enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time with his family and friends.
He and his family spent many years traveling around the United States and throughout Europe and even completed visiting all 50 states. Roger and best friend from high school, Rudy Kaisik, also started and ran the Blue Mountain Tree Farm growing and selling Christmas trees for over 40 years. He always enjoyed being outdoors and tinkering around in his workshop building whirligigs, bird houses, and even a baby crib.
