Saugerties, NY – Saugerties, NY – Robert Irwin Swart, 75, passed away on Wednesday, November 12,2025 at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, NY.

Born on April 22, 1950 in Jersey City, NJ, he enlisted with the US Navy after graduating from high school. Following his honorable discharge, he worked many many jobs until finally securing a job for the United States Postal Service as Tour Supervisor, where he worked until retirement.

Bob was a simple man who found joy in quiet pursuits. He loved taking random roadtrips and stopping at restaurants along the way. He especially enjoyed spending time at the water while drinking a cup of coffee and taking in the sights. He loved life to the fullest and cherished time spent with his family, watching his grandchildren playing sports, and especially enjoyed holidays. He was the life of the party and never missed an opportunity to make everyone laugh.

Bob will be deeply missed by his daughters, Carlene Swart of Kingston, Jennifer Swart of Charlotte NC, and Melissa Swart of Saugerties; his grandchildren Tyler Swart and Arianna Griffin; his great-grandson Jaxson Swart; his sister Donna Valdes and her husband Julio; his sister-in-law Catherine Swart and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn Swart, his parents, Loretta and William Swart, and brothers Dennis Swart and William Swart.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at Buono Funeral Service in Saugerties, NY. A funeral service will be held 6:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will follow on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:00AM at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington NJ. A celebration of life will follow at a later time.
