OBITUARY Saugerties – Robert Nilsen died Wednesday December 17, 2014 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck. He was 78 years old Born September 23, 1936 in Brooklyn, he was the son of Thorwald and Mary Olsen Nilsen. He was retired from The United Brotherhood of Carpenter's Local 203 in Poughkeepsie. He is survived by his wife, Marylou Dugan Nilsen, seven children, Gary Nilsen, Steven Nilsen, Sharon Bach, Lisa Rustad, James Rustad and Thomas Nilsen all of Saugerties and Harry Rustad of Cairo, NY; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A former United States Marine, he loved to watch WW II Documentaries and his beloved Giants. He enjoyed working with his hands and building things. Funeral services will be held 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY.
