Saugerties – Robert J. Brunetti died Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Health Alliance Broadway Campus in Kingston. He was 84 years old.
Born January 8, 1931 in Old Forge, PA, he was the son of Roberto and Amelia Sabatini Brunetti. On August 22, 1954 he married the former Mary F. Carman with whom he recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
Bob graduated Old Forge High School in 1948 and later enlisted in the US Navy during the Korean War where he received an Honorable Discharge. After the Navy he graduated Temple University at the top of his class. He retired from IBM in Kingston where he worked as an engineer and was a member of their Quarter Century Club, then pursued other career activities. He was also a member of Lamouree Hackett Post #72 American Legion. He was member and Past Grand Knight of Saugerties Council #4536 Knights of Columbus. Bob enjoyed fishing and pinochle and was a former bowler. An avid Boston Red Sox fan, he enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grand and great grand children play sports.
In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Kall of Saugerties; his son, Robert Brunetti Jr and his wife Lisa of Long Island; three grandchildren, Steven and Michael Brunetti and Christina Kall; his great-grandson Jimmy Heinlein; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his two older brothers, David and Albert.
A funeral procession will form 9:15 AM Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY and then proceed to St. Joseph's Church in Glasco where a 10:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment with full military honors will follow at St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Main Street, Saugerties.
