Raymond H. Ludwig was the kindest, most generous husband and friend to all who came into his path and to many who just needed his kindness, even if he did not know them for over a short time.

He was brilliant and good at the gameshow Jeopardy, never missing an answer. That was a TV show that some scholars had trouble answering. He worked hard, never missing a day of work for years until he retired from AT&T, technically servicing the television programming. He even refused a management position because he thought he would have to fire employees.

He was handsome and well-acquainted with the artistic movements in New York City. He introduced Laura, his wife, to beautiful paintings at the museums and galleries, jazz at the clubs, and noted musicians she would never have heard of without his knowledge. He had a beautiful sense of color and design and loved many other subjects, such as history, archaeology, and literature. He was also interested in events and facts developing in all areas of life. He had a terrific sense of humor.

Laura and Ray dated before marriage, which took place on October 24, 1992, and he introduced his wife to the restaurants in New York City, which his hard work at the office could pay for. They were married for 33 years. They loved each other with a love that is rarely found, and his wife Laura will miss him forever.

Ray rescued all the cats they had and often helped people with problems. His family, friends, and wife will miss him, as everyone who knew him instantly felt great in his presence. He was happy, calm, and always listened to others because he could also offer excellent advice and cared about other people.

In addition to his wife, Laura Lonshein Ludwig, Ray is survived by his sister, Fran Dreyfus; his nieces, Jeannine McEnroe and Debra (Bill) Miller; and his nephews, Logan Miller and Landon Miller.

Ray is predeceased by his parents, Harold and Elizabeth (Graham) Ludwig, as well as his brother-in-law, Walter Dreyfus.
