Saugerties – Raymond P. Long Jr. died Sunday, November 11, 2018 at West Chester Medical Center following a long illness. He was 69 years old.

Born March 9, 1949 in Alleghany, PA, he was the son of C. Elizabeth Long and the late Raymond Long, Sr. He retired from Siemen's where he had been employed as a Regional Manager for telephone and network systems.

A fan of science fiction in general, he particularly enjoyed Star Trek and was a collector of memorabilia. He was also an avid baseball fan. Ray had been active in Alcoholics Anonymous for more than 3 decades in addition to being a member he served as a sponsor to many people. Above all his favorite past time was spoiling his grandchildren.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his three daughters Melissa Jousma of Germany, Elizabeth Hayes of Florida, and Cheryl Long of Rosendale; his two sons Thomas Long and Michael Long both of Saugerties; eleven grandchildren Sarah, Aiden, Sophia, Gaia, Carter, Patrick, Maggie, Jackie, Anna, Louise and Josie; and his sister Linda Long of Saugerties.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY. Cremation was private. Friends may call Saturday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
