Glasco – Peter J. Cafaldo, Sr. died Monday, May 2, 2016, at Health Alliance of the Hudson Valley Broadway Campus in Kingston. He was 82 years old.

Born February 5, 1934 in Glasco, he was the son of John and Rose Gualtieri Cafaldo. He married the former Esther Geary on October 22, 1955. She pre-deceased him on March 28, 2004.

He was a member of the Glasco Fire Company for more than 50 years. He retired from IBM in 1993 after 38 years of service and was a member of their Quarter Century Club.

Survivors include five children, Rosemarie Cafaldo of Glasco, John K. Cafaldo and his wife Lou Ann of Glasco, Michele T. Cooney and her husband Richard of Glasco, Peter J Cafaldo, Jr. and his wife Dina of Glasco, and Debra Ruby and her husband Richard of Raleigh, NC; seven grandchildren, Ashley Cafaldo, Rosanna Cafaldo, Kristin Cafaldo and her husband Tristan Schroeder, Keith Moree, Shawon Moree, Taylor Ruby, and Alex Ruby; a great-granddaughter, Aleta; and his brother Francis J. Cafaldo.

In addition to his wife he was pre-deceased by his parents and his sister, Theresa Cafaldo.

A funeral procession will form at 9:15 AM Friday, May 6, 2016, at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY and then proceed to St. Joseph RC Church in Glasco where a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow at St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Barclay Heights. Friends may call Thursday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., 100 Main Street, Saugerties, NY.
