Saugerties – Nora Drefin died Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at home. She was 90 years old.

Born July 24, 1927 in Yonkers, NY, she was the daughter of James and Susan Meeghan Lyons. On June 8, 1947 she married Herbert Drefin who pre-deceased her on May 29, 1984.

She was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist in Centerville and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Saugerties Senior Citizens Club and the Red Hatters. Nora was an avid card player.

Throughout the years she was employed at Jack's Dress Facory on Partition Street, the shoe factory on High Street, as a home health care aid, and at Ferroxcube as an inspector.

Survivors include her son, Wayne Drefin of Saugerties; her nieces and nephews Susie Sep, Robin Terrasky, Susan Lyons, Peggy McRae, and Sven & Silka Benz. She was pre-deceased by her daughter Susan; her two sons Larry and Alan; her sister Anne Robbins, her brother Johnny Lyons, and her cousin Liane Benz.

A Funeral procession will form 9:15 AM Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Main Street Chapel, Saugerties, NY and then proceed to St. John the Evangelist Parish Center in Centerville, where a 10:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will occur in the Spring in Mount Marion Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Nora's memory to St. Judes's Children's Hospital.
