OBITUARY Saugerties – Nick Spallino died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Benedictine Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was 76 years old. He was born January 17, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Ignazzio Spallino and Vincenza (Jennie) Aloisio Spallino. On September 5, 1959 he married the former Marie Finazzo. A loving family man, he had a special bond with his son and grandchildren, and enjoyed all family activities. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting, fishing, deep sea fishing and clamming on Long Island. He also enjoyed gardening and cooking. He was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Snow. In addition to his beloved wife Marie, he is survived by his son , Michael, and his wife Christine of Saugerties; his grandchildren, Corey and Kailena Spallino; his brother, Tony of Lainesville; two sisters, Betty Calise of Long Island and Sara Mortorano of Saugerties. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by three brothers, Frank, Gasper and John Spallino; and three sisters, Lena Neglia, Ann Castaglinova, and Mary Daoust. A Funeral procession will form 9:15 AM Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY and then proceed to St. Mary of the Snow where at 10:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow immediately in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Barclay Heights. Friends may call Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
