Saugerties – Melvin Mills died Saturday, May 5, 208 at Mid Hudson Regional Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 80 years old.

Born October 29, 1937 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Metrie and Marie Keller Mills. On May 6, 1967 he married the former Lorraine Machione, who pre-deceased him on March 20, 2015.

A dedicated family man and avid golfer; he was also an parishioner of St. Mary of the Snow. In 1993 he retired from IBM in Kingston where he was an engineer and worked as a Sr. Associate Programmer. Upon his retirement from IBM he worked at Lowe's in Kingston for 17 years.

Survivors include two children, Anne Fisher and her husband Michael and Melvin Mills, Jr. and his wife Iwona; a granddaughter Gabriela; five siblings, Kathleen Crowe, Marilyn Flower, Carolanne Schindler, Kenneth Mills and Leonard Mills; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral procession will form 9:15 AM Friday, May 11, 2018 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY and then proceed to St. Mary of the Snow where a 10:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow immediately in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Barclay Heights. Friends may call Thursday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
