Saugerties ? Lorraine Whitaker died Friday, May 25, 2012 at Kingston Hospital. She was 83 years old. Born January 2, 1929 in New York City, she was the daughter of Daniel Malone and Alice Deyo Malone. Her husband, Edmund Whitaker died September 1, 1996. Mrs. Whitaker was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Saugerties, past President of Saugerties Fire Department Auxiliary, former Cub Scout Den Mother, a member of Saugerties Elks Auxiliary, former Resident President of Golden Hill and a member of the Golden Hill Social Committee. Survivors include her daughter; Judith Mletzko of Kingston; her two sons, Carlton of Saugerties and Edmund of Kingston; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by two sons, William and Leonard Whitaker; and by her brother, Daniel Malone. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, May 28, 2012 at Atonement Lutheran Church, Market Street, Saugerties with Pastor Edward Schreiber officiating. Burial will follow immediately in Mountain View Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY.
