Saugerties, NY – Kathryn Ross Norton Melville, died Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at The Pines in Catskill. She was 87 years old.

Born February 21, 1932 in Kingston, she was the daughter of Lester and Agness Post Norton.. On February 20, 1954 she married Ian Melville, who pre-deceased her on October 10, 1917.

At one time she worked as an operator for NY Telephone and for many years she operated Kay's Krafts out of her home. However most of her time was spent as a caregiver, first for her children and later for her grandchildren as well as many other family members.

Survivors include herdaughter Sheila Melville; her three sons, Patrick Melville and his wife Joanne, Thomas Melville and his wife Lorraine and Robert Melville and his wife Marylee; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her brother, George Norton in Florida. In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by four siblings, Frank, Leona, William and Madeline.
