Karl J. Bernert's Obituary
Saugerties – Karl J. Bernert died Saturday, December 3, 2016 at HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley, Broadway Campus in Kingston. He was 84 years old.
Born April 5, 1932 in Yugoslavia, he was the son of Andreas and Elisabeth Rot Bernert. He married the former Ella Zahn on September 22, 1957. Karl was a self-employed tailor and worked for ten years at Rafalowsky's in Kingston.
Along with his wife, he was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Saugerties and the HealthAlliance Senior Club.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his two sons John Bernert and his wife Rhonda of Oneida, NY and Robert Bernert and his wife Roberta of San Jose, CA; and four grandchildren Eliza, Kristin, Colin and Henry.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY. Interment will follow immediately in Mt. View Cemetery on Main Street. Friends may call Tuesday 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
