OBITUARY Saugerties, NY – Judith A. Rafferty, beloved spouse, devoted mother, passed away peacefully at home on July 11, 2011. She was 72 years old. Judy was born February 21, 1939 to James Robert and Grace Gregg Andrews in Spokan WA, her family soon moved to a farm outside Bonners Ferry Idaho, where she grew up. On April 9, 1959 she married the love of her life, James Rafferty. A registered nurse, she was employed as a unit manager for New York Blood Services. She was an Army wife for more than twenty years, an accomplished seamstress, exceptional cook who loved to dance. She was a resident of Port Charlotte, FL and Saugerties, NY. In addition to her husband, James, she is survived by nine children, Laurie Pallotta of Huntsville AL; Susan Lyons of Queens, NY, Gina Mahoney of Concord, NC, Cathy Rowley of Raleigh, NC, Irene Mapa of the Poconos, Mary Basile of Queens, NY, Jim Rafferty of Mt. Vernon, VA, Grace Basile of Lake Carmel, NY and Eileen Rafferty of Queens, NY; her sister, Carol Andrews of Peoria, AZ; 20 Grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral procession will form 8:15 AM Friday, July 15, 2011 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc. in Saugerties, NY and then proceed to St. Mary of the Snow where a 9:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Rev. Christopher Berean, Pastor of St. Mary of the Snow will officiate. Interment will follow immediately in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. Friends may call Thursday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
