Saugerties, NY – Joseph D. Traver, died Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck with his family at his side. He was 90 years old.

Born March 8, 1933 in Ancram, NY, he was the son of the late Clayton Traver and the late Mary Fagan Traver. He was also predeceased by his sisters Mary Eileen Traver and Jane Elizabeth Traver. On September 23, 1956 he married the former Joan E. Oles. He retired from IBM in Kingston after 37 years where he worked in security and as a records management clerk.

Joe served his country during the Korean War stationed in Germany. He enjoyed spending time with family as well as hunting, fishing and farming on his property.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Daniel Traver of Saugerties, and David Traver and his wife Joyce of Lake Katrine; his grandchildren Krystal, Jeffrey, Christian and Jonathan; and his great-grandchildren Jasmine, Timmy, Summer and Hudson. A nephew and several nieces also survive.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ferncliff Nursing Home and Northern Dutchess Hospital for the care he received.

Cremation Services were private and under the direction of Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY. Friends may call at Buono Funeral Service, Inc. on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm and a memorial service will be celebrated at 2:00 pm. Military Honors will follow at Donlon Memorial Park followed immediately by a gathering at The American Legion Hall.
