OBITUARY Saugerties, NY – Joseph V. Ciardi, Sr. died Sunday, October 12, 2014 at home following a long illness. He was 66 years old. Born September 24, 1948 in Brooklyn, he was the son of Alphonso and Margaret Wanderlie Ciardi. He was a retired technician from Amatek-Rotron in Woodstock and he served in the US Army Reserve. An avid golfer and Yankee fan, he enjoyed watching baseball and cooking. He also enjoyed taking vacations on cruises. Survivors include his wife, Diane Bauer Ciardi; his son, Joseph V. Ciardi, Jr. and his wife Julie; his daughter Stacey M. Fitzgerald and her husband Sean; his son Matthew Ciardi and his long time girlfriend Renee Schoonmaker; his step-daughter Belinda Converse; his eight grandchildren and great grandchild; two sisters Marie Johnson and her husband Bob and Muriel Pina and her husband Willie; and by two Uncles, Thomas Ciardi and his wife Mickey, and Phillip Wanderlie He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Cremation was at the convenience of the family and a private celebration of life is scheduled for a future date.
