OBITUARY Saugerties – Harvey R. Myers died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck. He was 93 years old. Born December 30, 1919, he was the son of Anley Myers and Margaret Rowley Myers. He married the former Mary E. Hillje on May 1, 1954. Harvey retired from Hudson Cement where he worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator. During WWII he served with the 13th Army Division in both France and Germany. He was a member of Lamouree-Hackett Post #72 American Legion and Saugerties Senior Citizens Club #2. In addition to his wife, survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Darell Whitaker of Essex Junction, VT; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Al Alexsa of New Paltz; grandchildren Kristen Vella, Heather Alexsa, Austin Whitaker and Megan Alexsa; great-grandchildren William and Kate Vella; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Roberta Kniffen and Louise Myers; brothers, Anley, James and Alvin Myers. Cremation services will be held at the convenience of the family. Family and friends are invited to offer their condolences to the family during the Interment ceremony at Mountain View Cemetery, located on Main Street in Saugerties, on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
