OBITUARY Saugerties, NY – Gilda J. Iannone died Friday, March 29, 2013 at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Yonkers, NY. She was 97 years old. Born July 7, 1915, in Glasco, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Vincenjina Turco Cashara. In 1975 she was pre-deceased by her husband, Fred Iannone, whom she married in 1934. She was the mother of Alfred Iannone, Sister Jean Iannone, a Sister of Charity, and Linda Angelo. She is also survived by a brother, Albert "Chappy" Cashara; and her sister, Pauline Castiglione; thirty-one grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son Joseph, brothers Frank, Alex, Joe, Mike, John, Pete, and sisters Laura, Helen, Rosie, and Louise. Gilda was a life long resident of Saugerties who was very active in village clubs where she used her sowing and cooking skills. She was a member of St. Mary of the Snow and their Rosary Society. She was also a Charter member of the Saugerties Columbiettes. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 4, 2013 at St. Mary of the Snow R.C. Church Saugerties, NY. Interment will follow in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Barclay Heights. Friends may call Wednesday 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
