Saugerties – Geraldine "Gerry" Spada died Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at home. She was 96 years old.

Born April 29, 1927 in Glasco, NY she was the daughter of the late Frank Mauro and the late Julia T. Buono Mauro. On October 23, 1949 she married Frank J. Spada who pre-deceased her on June 30, 2007. She retired from Augustine Insurance Agency in Kingston.

A long time parishioner of St. Mary of the Snow – St. Joseph Parish, she was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society. She was also a former member of Glasco Fire Company Auxilary and the Glasco Gun Club Auxilary. Always active in her community, she diligently attended Town Board meetings, Saugerties School Board meetings and Glasco Water-Sewer Board meetings.

Survivors include her sister-in-law Ella Mauro; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was previously deceased by his sister, Emily Perry; her brothers, Michael Mauro, Rudy Mauro, Sr., and John Mauro; and by her in-laws Concetta Mauro and Nip Perry.

A Funeral procession will form 9:45 AM, Friday Jude 23, 2023 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., in Saugerties, and then proceed to St. Joseph's Church in Glasco where a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow immediately in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Barclay Heights. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Main Street, Saugerties.
