Obituary

Geraldine (Gerri) A. Letersky, 88, of Saugerties, NY, died on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at TenBroeck Commons. She was born in Buffalo, NY on June 13, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Matthew and Florence (Cobel) Bykowski. Gerri was employed at various jobs throughout her life; she managed the Pine Garden Apartments, she was a bookkeeper for Wiedy's Furniture, she was a bookkeeper and bartender at the Reservoir Inn and was a seamstress for Flanigan Cleaners until she retired to become a stay at home Grandma. She was an avid bowler, fisherman, golfer and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, shopping, yard sales and baking. She was the family's go-to for sewing and alterations. She took it upon herself to learn computer skills and became quite savvy for a woman her age. She loved her little chihuahua, Mite, as well as any dog she came across. Gerri is survived by her son Joseph (Teresa) of South Carolina, her son David (Dionne) of North Carolina, her son Mark (Phyllis) of Maryland, her daughter Karen (late Robert) Nyulassy and her daughter Lori Grimaldi. She was predeceased by her son Craig (Kathe) Letersky. She is survived by many grandchildren Jesse (Todd) Ellsworth, Jami Letersky, Evan (Grace) Letersky, Jarrett (Brittany) Letersky, Jillian Letersky, Kristen (Shawn) Burgher, Keli (Casey) Shields, Kerri (Domion) Letersky, Jennifer (Steven) Bock, Rebecca Nyulassy, Andrew (Britteny) Nyulassy, Nicholette (Michael) Dunleavy, Anthony (Hannah) Letersky, Oscean Letersky and Joseph and Jake Grimaldi. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren and extended family. She was sister to Robert (late Sharon), Karl (Linda) Bykowski, and predeceased by Paul (Constance) Bykowski.
