OBITUARY Saugerties – Emma Theresa "Terri" Sumpter, a 52 year resident of Saugerties, died Tuesday April 23, 2013 at home. She was 86 years old. Born January 19, 1927 in Salching, Germany, she was the daughter of Johann & Theresa Wiedl Thanner. She retired after 25 years from Ulster County where she worked as a Physical Health Aid for the Health Department. An avid Bavarian dancer, she was a frequent participant in festivals. She loved to travel and also enjoyed knitting, needle point, and gardening. Survivors include her five children, Linda Linic of Kingston, Cynthia Sumpter of Saugerties, Steven Sumpter of Saugertis, Thomas Sumpter of Clarkton, NC, and Julia Simon and her husband Ted of Port Orchard, WA; seven grandchildren, Carole Fetbroth, Laura Dias, Tom Sumpter, Jr., James Linic, Justin Sumpter, Eric Sumpter, and Kathryn Caulkins; and seven great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her son Peter Grose in 2009 and by seven older brothers. Funeral services will be held 8:00 PM Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Main Street Chapel, Saugerties, NY. Cremation will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Saturday 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
