Saugerties, NY – Elnora "Ellie" Thorne died Wednesday, August 25, 2021at home. She was 86 years old.

Born May 25, 1935 in East Jewett, NY, she was the daughter of the late Timothy and the late Marian Pond Benjamin. On February 14, 1954 she married Nathan Thorne who pre-deceased her on July 10, 2000.

A loving mother who was always there for her children, her grandchildren were the loves of her life. Her family was always her #1 priority. She will be missed more than words can say.

Survivors include her children, Brenda Wilson and her husband Brian of Saugerties, Matt and his wife Susan of Arizona, and Patrick of Kingston; her grandchildren Peter Winchell, Shannon Hughes and her husband Justin, Serena Rafferty and her husband Sean, Michael Winchell and his wife Chiharu, John Wilson, Jason Thorne and his wife Jessica, and Melinda McNeil and her husband Joe; 10 great-grandchildren; her sister Loraine Ferraro; her former son-in-law Charles Winchell; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by four brothers and two sisters.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc. Friends may call Friday at Buono Funeral Service, Inc. from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
