Saugerties – Elizabeth "Betty" Decker went to the Lord surrounded by her family on September 9, 2017. She was 84 years old.

Born May 10, 1933 in Kingston, she was the daughter of Theodore and Frieda Recksiegel Hofbauer, Sr. She retired from Jamesway where she worked as a department manager more than 21 years ago

A parishioner of St. Mary of the Snow parish, she was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society and active in the RCIA program. She was also a longtime member of the Community of God's Amazing Grace Prayer Group. She also belonged to the Glasco Tuesday Rosary. Betty enjoyed gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Micheala Bonse and her husband Augustus of Kingston, June De Angelis and her husband Edward of Saugerties, Samuel De Groat, Sr and his wife Sharon of Saugerties, Donna Cline of Saugerties, Elaine De Groat and her husband Roger of Palm Coast Fl, and Alfred Decker, Jr of Williamsport, PA; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; and her siblings Theodore Hofbauer, Jr, Marie Green, Dorothy Kilmer and William Hofbauer. She was pre-deceased by 8 siblings.

A Funeral procession will form 9:15 AM Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY and then proceed to St. Mary of the Snow where a 10:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow immediately in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Barclay Heights. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
