Saugerties – Edward L. Montano, Sr. died Tuesday May 30, 2017 at The Pines in Catskill. He was 78 years old.

Born November 30, 1938 in Kingston, he was the son of Louis and Pauline Davis Montano. Edward graduated St. Mary of the Snow School in Saugerties, Saugerties High School and Manhattan College in New York. The co-owner of Montano's Shoe Store in Saugerties; he enjoyed family, spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Ritamary Montano-Vining and her husband Jeffrey, Edward Montano Jr. and his wife Tina, and Joseph Montano and his wife Kristen; his grandchildren, Juliannah, Jeffrey Jr., Matthew, Meredith, Hunter and Hudson; his sister Judith Montano; and several cousins.

A Procession will form 9:45 am Friday, June 2, 2017 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, and then proceed to St. Mary of the Snow Church where a 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow immediately in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Barclay Heights. Friends may call Thursday 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
