Dorothy J. Dederick, 80, of Malden Turnpike, Saugerties, died Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at her home, surrounded by loving family and friends. Born March 11, 1940 in Veteran, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Catherine Parker Frisbie. Dorothy was a lifelong Saugerties resident and a parishioner of St. Mary of the Snow Church. She was a faithful wife to her husband and a loving mother to her children, as well as a loyal friend. Dorothy was an astute businesswoman and ran a trucking business with her husband, as well as serving as an officer in his other businesses. She was also a successful real estate salesperson and a savvy observer of the political scene. Dorothy served on the Saugerties School Board and held various offices in the local Conservative Party. She earned the respect of county and state politicians as she promoted Conservative causes. Dorothy talked with everyone and made friends easily. She kept these friends throughout her life, socializing and traveling with them over the years. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Bruce. She is survived by her children Wendy, Lisa (Dan), and Bruce Jr., her beloved grandson Matthew, her four brothers, and her dear friend Bill Cortegiano, who kept her laughing to the end. Arrangements were under the direction of Buono Funeral Service, Inc of Saugerties.
