Saugerties – Doris Ivino died Friday, December, 2017 at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 75 years old.
Born February 26, 1942 in Central City, KY, she was the daughter of Elvis and Ethel Griffin. Her husband Nicholas died March 27, 1996.
She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Snow and St. John the Evangelist before that. She was active in the RCIA and Prayer Group at St. John the Evangelist. For many years she worked for the Town of Saugerties, first as the Animal Control Officer and then for the Building Department.
Doris had a deep love and devotion to animals and because of this through the years touched many lives of people as well as animals particularly through her work as Animal Control Officer. She always knew how to bring a smile to anyone's face. An avid gardener she enjoyed all sorts of activity outdoors.
Survivors include her children, Betty Ivino, Nicholas Ivino, Jr, Tiffany Ivino, and Jason Ivino; her grandchildren, Nicole Lasch, Jennifer Atkins, David Craft, Danielle Craft, Michael Ivino, Brandon Ivino, Caitlynn Passaretti, Livinia Sasso and Colton Ivino; her great-granddaughter Blake Rose Lasch; and her sister Modelle Belcher.
In addition to her husband she was pre-deceased by her siblings Jolean Edwards and Estil Carson Griffin.
A Funeral procession will form 9:15 AM Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY and then proceed to St. Mary of the Snow where an 10:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Cremation will follow immediately and interment in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Barclay Heights will take place at a later date. Friends may call Monday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
