OBITUARY INFORMATION
Mount Marion – Donald P. Fogarty, Sr. died peacefully at home Tuesday, September 29, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was 77 years old.

Born November 8, 1937 in the Bronx, he was the son of James and Cecilia Conrad Fogarty. On June 14, 1964 he married the former Sandra J. Smith. She pre-deceased him on August 22, 2009.

In 2002 he retired from the NY Times, where he worked as a mailer. He was an avid fisherman, particularly deep sea fishing. He enjoyed gardening and camping. For many years he and his family maintained a campsite at 3R's campground. He was also a fan of the NY Giants and the NY Yankees.

Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Fogarty and Dawn Maloney both of Mt. Marion; six grandchildren Tiffany Fogarty, Matthew Fogarty, Cammeron Maloney, Kathleen Morse and her husband Russell, Leah Fogarty, and Donald P. Fogarty III and his fiancé Elizabeth Rodschat; his great-granddaughter Jocelyn Aria Fogarty; his sister Rita Jean and his brother, Peter Fogarty. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his wife, he was pre-deceased by his son Donald Fogarty, Jr. on March 5, 2015; his sister Arlene Dill; and his two brothers James and Carl Fogarty.

A Funeral procession will form 9:15 AM Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY and then proceed to St. John the Evangelist Parish Center in Centerville, where a 10:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow immediately in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Barclay Heights. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in his memory to the American Heart Association.
