Palenville – Dolores "Doty" Gardner died Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Livingston Hills Nursing Home in Livingston. She was 57 years old.

Born September 1, 1960 in Kingston, NY, she is the daughter of Catherine Tompkins Rockwell and Jack Rockwell. On May 14, 1983 she married Robert Gardner, who pre-deceased her on August 23, 2016.

Dolores enjoyed history and was active with her husband in several re-enactor groups including revolutionary, civil war and medieval. She was particularly interested in Viking history and Indian lore. She loved people, animals and nature and enjoyed hunting and fishing. She was a member of the Monday Night Saugerties Dartball League.

In addition to her mother, Catherine, she is survived by two sons Robert of Poughkeepsie and Michael of Palenville; her brother Eric Rockwell of Delmar; her dear cousin who was like a sister, Carla Volheim of Oxford, NC; her father-in¬¬¬-law Robert Gardner; her sister-in-law Lisa Gardner; several Aunts, uncles and other cousins.

Funeral services will be held 7:30 Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Main Street, Saugerties, NY. Cremation will follow at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Thursday from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
