Saugerties – Damian C. Fondino died Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Kaaterskill Care in Catskill, NY.

Damian was the son of the late Stephen and Marion DePasquale Fondino formerly of Glasco, NY. He worked construction all his life for various local contractors. During the Korean War, he served in the US Army and served in combat including Pork Chop Hill.

Survivors include his brother Raymond Fondino of Lowell, MA; his sisters Marion DeJoy and her husband John of Kingston and Laura Wallach, Stella Costello, and Jean Fondino all of Saugerties. Many nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by his brothers, Benjamin, Cosmo and Peter Fondino and his sisters, Susan and Carolyn Fondino.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Wednesday April 8, 2015 at St. Joseph's RC Church in Glasco. Fr. John Kearney, Pastor of St. Joseph's will officiate. Interment with full military honors will follow immediately in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Barclay Heights. Friends may call Tuesday from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
