Obituary
Mount Marion – Caroline B. Ahrens died peacefully at home on April 11, 2021. She was 92 years old.

Born January 20, 1929 in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Julia Kowalski Murat and the late Joseph Murat. On June 12, 1948 she married John Ahrens, who pre-deceased her on February 8, 2002.

In addition to being a full-time mother and housewife, she worked briefly at Family Dollar and as a waitress at Deannie's Restaurant in Woodstock. She enjoyed painting and redecorating as well as flowers. For relaxation she enjoyed crocheting.

Survivors include her children John Ahrens and his wife Bonnie of Catskill, Steve Ahrens and his wife Doreen of Mount Marion, Susie Williams of Mount Marion, and Richie "RJ" Ahrens of Florida; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her siblings Adriene Burke, Barbara "Bobby" Christiana, Richie Murat, Donnie Murat, and Billy Murat; and her caregivers Melissa Hartrum and Danielle Grant. In addition to her husband she was pre-deceased by her daughter Joann Savatgy, son-in-law Joe Savatgy, and her brother Joseph Murat.

Funeral services will be held 7:30 PM Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY. A private cremation will follow. Friends may call Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
