Saugerties – Candida Giardina died Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley Broadway Campus in Kingston. She was 90 years old.

Born October 19, 1927 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Andrew and Theresa Musella Bonomo. Her husband, Domenick Giardina whom she married January 26, 1952, pre-deceased her in March of 1993.

Formerly, she worked as a seamstress in garment factories in Brooklyn. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart in Palenville. Reading was a lifelong passion of hers.

Survivors include her two children, Angela Redner of Saugerties and Louis Giardina and his wife Julie of Long Island; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a niece and her husband in Palenville.

A Funeral procession will form 10:00 AM Friday, May 4, 2018 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY and then proceed to Sacred Heart Church in Palenville, where an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow immediately in Palenville Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
