Saugerties – Bruno Pellegri died Sunday February 25, 2018 at TenBroeck Commons in Lake Katrine. He was 92 years old.

Born May 24, 1925 in Parma, Italy, he was the son of Orazio and Melania Bacchieri Pellegri. On March 1, 1949 he married the former Teresa Canuti and they would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary Thursday.

A hard working man all of his life, he served in the Italian Army during WWII and worked as a lumberjack in France before emigrating to the United States in 1967. He was a member of the Excavators Union Local 731 and worked on many construction jobs around New York City.

Spending time outdoors and enjoying nature was a passion of his. He was known to forage for mushrooms and tend to his garden for leisure. Creative by nature, he enjoyed woodworking and working with his hands.

Bruno was very proud of the quality life he built in the New World and particularly his children and grandchildren and their various achievements. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa at home; four children, Gianfranco Pellegri and his wife Maria Teresa, Gina Maestri and her husband Celeste, Bruna Biolzi and her husband Marco, and John Pellegri and his wife Angela; eleven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by ten siblings.

He was a humble yet impactful man; a husband, father and nonno that will be tremendously missed by all those who were lucky enough to have known him.

A Funeral procession will form 9:15 AM Thursday, March 1, 2018at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY and then proceed to St. John the Evangelist Parish Center in Centerville, where a 10:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow immediately in Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston. Friends may call Wednesday, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
