Glasco – Bridget Moughan died Saturday, December 12, 2015 at HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley Broadway Campus. She was 82 years old.
Born August 26, 1933 in Cloonacool, County Sligo, Ireland, she was the daughter of James and Ellen Walker O'Dowd. At age 19 she emigrated to the US with her beloved sister, Joan, and worked under contract as an au pair in Ridgewood, NJ. On May 11, 1963 she married William F. Moughan, Sr.
Before moving to Saugerties she worked as a server at Stouffer's Top of the Six's Restaurant in Manhattan. She then spent many years working at the Katsbaan Inn restaurant in Saugerties. She also worked at Villa St. Dominic in Glasco and Villa St. Joseph in Saugerties. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Glasco.
She was an avid gardener, and loved flowers. Her family was the number one priority in her life. She had a great sense of humor and quick wit. People loved to be around her because she found the joy in life.
In addition to her husband , she is survived by three sons; Michael Moughan and his wife Mary Anne of Hurley; William Moughan Jr. of Glasco; and Kevin Moughan and his wife Karen, of Scotia NY; six grandchildren, Michelle, Mikey, Max, Jimmy, Tommy, and Liam; and by two sisters Anne Falls of Jackson Heights, NY and Rita Brennan of Philadelphia, PA.
A Funeral procession will form at 9:15 AM, Wednesday December 16, 2015 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY and then proceed to St. Joseph's RC Church in Glasco where at 10:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Rev. Monsignor Charles Zanotti, Pastor Emeritus of St. Joseph Church will officiate. Interment will follow immediately in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Barclay Heights. Friends may call Tuesday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and again 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Main Street, Saugerties.
