Obituary

Glasco, NY – Anna DiPaola Tagliafierro died peacefully at home on Friday, March 12, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was 83 years old.

Born January 7, 1938 in Amorosi, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Domenico DiPaola and the late Letizia Cermola. After immigrating to the US in June of 1956, she worked as a seamstress and paved the way to help her entire immediate family to come to the United States. She married Michele "Mike" Tagliafierro on January 27, 1963. After more than 54 years of marriage, her husband, Mike predeceased her on October 11, 2017.

Anna was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Joseph-St. Mary of the Snow in Glasco. Family mattered most to her. She loved being with her children and her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling as well as watching catholic programs on EWTN. Anna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, loved by all whom she touched and she will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include her children, Michael and his wife Maureen, Maria Tagliafierro, Helena DiBella and her husband Renato, Dennis Tagliafierro and his companion Andrea Myers, Letizia Tagliafierro, Dominic Tagliafierro, and Mario Tagliafierro and his wife Natasha; her siblings, Maria Costello and her husband Fred, Pietro DiPaola and his wife Carol, Josephine Nardone, Carmen Saracco Angelo DiPaola and his wife Marine, and Rosalba Prizzia and her husband John; her brother-in-law Joseph Saracco: her adopted sister, Sr. Maria Raffaella of Rome Italy; and her grandchildren John Paul, Michael, Sophia, Marco and his wife Rosanna, Michela, Marina, Michael Angelo and his wife Jessica. She also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and in laws here in the United States and in Italy, Canada and Australia. She was pre-deceased by her sister Maria Pia Saracco and brothers-in-law Alberico Nardone and Fernando Saracco.

A Funeral procession will form Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc. and then proceed to St. Joseph's Church in Glasco where a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow immediately in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery in Barclay Heights. Friends may call at Buono Funeral Service, Inc in Saugerties 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, March 15, 2021. Due to COVID 19 facemasks will be required and social distancing will be enforced.
