OBITUARY INFORMATION
Saugerties, NY – Alvin Dean Rumble passed away at home on Saturday, January 30, 2021, after battling cancer. He was 73 years old.


Born March 30, 1947 in London, Ontario, he was the son of Bertha Argue Rumble the late Dale Rumble. After moving to the United States in 1957, he finished high school in Saugerties, obtained an associate degree at Ulster College, and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War in 1968 through 1970. During his military service, he became a naturalized US Citizen.


Alvin returned to earn another associate degree from Ulster College and continued at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Alvin enjoyed a full and diverse life, residing for a time in NYC, later in Atlanta Georgia and finally returning home to live in Saugerties.


He was the proprietor of Alvin Auto Autobody in Saugerties since 1984. On December 6, 1986 he married the former Catherine Mary Rhoades. Alvin greatly enjoyed and appreciated all his family and friends from town, school, church, and college, and all his business acquaintances in the autobody field. He faithfully attended church.


In addition to his wife Catherine, survivors include his daughters, Gloria and Catherine (Katy); his four brothers, Donald, David, Richard and his wife Sharon, Kenneth; and his elderly mother Bertha Argue Rumble. Alvin's extended Rhoades Relatives are Catherine's brothers and sister, their spouses, and ten nieces and nephews.


A funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc. in Saugerties. Friends may call Saturday at Buono Funeral Service, Inc. from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Face coverings will be required and social distancing will be observed. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to help defer funeral expenses.
