Raya Marie Strout

Raya Marie Strout of Catskill, NY was born April 4, 1992 at Kingston Hospital in Kingston, NY. She resided in Staten Island, NY when she suddenly passed away on 2/1/2022. Raya was a 2010 graduate of Catskill High School, Catskill NY and simultaneously graduated from Questar III in Hudson, NY as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She attended SUNY Ulster Community College and the College of St. Rose from 2012-2014 in pursuit of her bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Raya served in the US Army National Guard from 2012-2018 as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Specialist and had a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse, working for various nursing homes and nursing agencies in the Hudson Valley. Most recently she was a private duty home care nurse with Hope Home Care in Staten Island. Raya is survived by her significant other, Paul Mangano of Staten Island and their newborn daughter Patience Marie Mangano; her mother Veronica Ramos-Strout and stepfather Timothy Talmadge of Catskill, NY; her father Robert Strout and stepmother Melissa Strout of Catskill, NY; her brother Warren Strout; her sister in-law Laura McCardle Augustine; and her nephew Nikolai Strout of Palenville, NY; her brother Aaron Strout, Catskill, NY; her maternal grandmother Susan McCutcheon of Port Ewen, NY; her paternal grandparents Donna and Warren Strout of Canton, PA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her dearly Raya was passionate about The Lord Jesus Christ and fiercely loved and cared for her family and friends. She had a smile and presence that lit up any room she entered. She had a love for all animals, in particular horses and her Pit Bull dog Nala and Rottweiler Faith who has since passed. Raya waited patiently in life for her biggest dream to come true, a family of her own. Raya's love will encompass her daughter Patience Marie for eternity. Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY. Interment will follow immediately in Blue Mountain Cemetery, Saugerties. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 AM until Noon at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
