Saugerties ? Mary Morgan died Friday, December 5, 2008 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck while recovering from Spinal surgery. She was 74 years old. Mary, the daughter of James K. and Sarah Murray was born January 7, 1934 in Winthrop, MA and attended High School in that community. She graduated in 1955 from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a BS in medical technology and served an internship at Beverly Hospital in Beverly, MA. She was a certified Medical Technologist. Her first real job was as the manager and chief tissue technician at the histology Laboratory at Children?s Hospital in Washington, DC. She married Joseph Morgan in Washington, DC in 1957. She is survived by her husband of Saugerties, and four children: Joseph P. of Palenville, NY, Susan of Grafton, MA, Michael, of San Jose, CA, and Stephen of Ocala, FL. She is also survived by brothers, Lawrence of Melbourne, FL and Arthur of Winthrop, MA, and be a sister, Evelyn of Orlando, FL. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Cathleen, and her brothers, Frank and James. Mary was on of the founders of the Daffodils Home Extension Group of Saugerties and was its chairwoman for most of the years of its existence. She also participated in the school lunch program at St. Mary of the Snow School for a number of years. A Funeral procession will form 9:15 AM Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Main Street Chapel, Saugerties, NY and then proceed to St. Mary of the Snow where a 10:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Rev. Christopher Berean, Pastor of St. Mary of the Snow will officiate. Interment will follow immediately in St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Middletown, NY. Friends may call Monday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
