Saugerties – Heinrich Holzhauer, 88, of Malden Turnpike, died Thursday, April 8, 2021 at HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley Broadway Campus in Kingston. Born November 18, 1932 in Homberg Germany, he was the son of the late Wilhem August Holzhauer and the late Katherina Schmer Holzhauer. He was pre-deceased by his wife Ingeborg Hintz Holzhauer on October 17, 1993 and his long time partner, Christa Kohler, in 2020. A tailor by trade, he worked many fields before being employed by Alpha Cement which became Lehigh Cement Co. from which he retired. He was a member of the Kingston Mannerchor and Damenchor. He loved being with family and traveling. Survivors include a son, Ralph Holzhauer (Laura) of Saugerties; three daughters, Debra Sickler (Ronald) of Louisburg, KS, Karin Williams (Michael McCagg) of Redhook, Joann Shultis (Bill Barhite) of Clinton Corners; a niece Linda Bognar of Kingston; two sisters, Frieda Sellman and Hannelore Flocke; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Huls, Christopher Sickler, Amy Siebert, Heather Porter, Stacy Williams-Facompre, Brian Holzhauer, Jennifer Shultis and Justin Beatty; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews in Germany. Friends may call Saturday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Buono Funeral Service, Inc. Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY. Due to Covid19 face coverings will be required and social distancing will be enforced. A private interment will be held at a later time in Blue Mountain Cemetery.
